birth support unique to you

I will provide the above services to all people, regardless of race, color, national or ethnic origin, age, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity and expression. That said, if you want a doula that looks more like you, shares common experiences and beliefs, or is better suited for your unique situation, I am happy to refer to other Lexington, KY, doulas.

  • Want an epidural as soon as you walk in the hospital doors?

  • Planning a hospital birth, but want to avoid pain medication and interventions?

  • Want to be at home in a birthing tub supported by a licensed midwife?

  • Have a scheduled Cesarean birth?

  • Planning to go to a birth center and want to round out your birth team?

  • Not sure what kind of birth you want and feel overwhelmed?

About Birth is about supporting your decisions. I am able provide evidence based information and anecdotal observations to help you find your path, and make sure you are seen and heard regardless of birth setting. There is no right way to birth, but having a team (provider, partner, nurse, doula) that supports you, advocates for you, and respects your choices can help make it a positive experience. I’m happy to make referrals to providers if you’re not sure who’d support your needs and plan; I have seen over 50 providers catch babies, so there’s a good chance I have worked with someone who would be the right fit.

Following are the healthcare providers with whom I have attended births. Please note that this is NOT a list of recommended providers- some are great for high risk pregnancies, while others are better suited for low risk and low intervention births. My experience with these care providers is part of the informational support that you receive as my doula client. I believe that the knowledge and perspective I've gained from working with these doctors and midwives is extremely valuable in helping you navigate your care.
